Optus Stadium
In 2015, Pinata collaborated with author Kim Scott to create a graphic interpretation of his poem, Kaya, to feature on the Perth Stadium facade.
The graphic is etched into 60 panels of the concrete facade, wrapping the entire stadium, symbollically weaving the ancient Noongar and English languages together.
The graphic was achieved through a complex process of printing the etch before forming up the precast facade panels, requiring much coordination and little room for error.
The project is a collaboration between HASSELL, Form WA, Kim Scott and the Whadjuk Working Party.
